Roger Capps is a certified FAA Commercial/Instrument helicopter pilot with over 3,500 flight hours; 300 hours obtained during combat missions. He has 25 years of experience with the Nevada Army Guard Aviation, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Capps was a commanding Officer during Operation Enduring Freedom VI and was directly responsible for the welfare of 227 soldiers and the conduct of all heavy lift CH-47D helicopter operations within southern Afghanistan. In addition, he also served as the Interim Army Aviation Support Facility Commander responsible for the daily management of 52 employees and supervisors, annual operating budget, aviation logistics, flight hour execution and mission oversight. He has also received Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.

Experience:

• Second-in-Command Pilot/Columbia Helicopters Inc: Aviation wild land firefighting contract with the United States Forest Service.
• Second-in-Command/Columbia Helicopters Inc: Flew BV 234 and BV 107’s working with the Department of Defense contracts in Afghanistan.
• Aviation Maintenance and Logistics Officer/Nevada Army National Guard: Responsible for maintenance and support of CH-47D, UH-60L, OH58-A/C, and LUH-72A helicopters. Performed maintenance operational checks and maintenance test flights as required. Provided maintenance logistic support and maintenance management to the Nevada Army Aviation Support Facility.

In 1994, Mr. Capps graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Course, Ft. Gordon, Georgia.
